Review Chapter 12. Choose a topic of your own choosing where you must compare or contrast something. Write about it in the comparison/contrast pattern [subject-by-subject or trait-by-trait]. At the end of the essay add an outline of your essay that demonstrates the similarities and differences.

Please choose a topic that you are interested in, will require some research and benefit your because you have chosen that topic. Complete III: Fill out an Editing Checklist

Up to this point you have written several essays for the course for which you have received feedback from your facilitator. You have received feedback regarding grammar, spelling, and design issues. It is a good idea to keep track of your facilitator’s suggestions so that you can improve on the research paper you will submit for Unit 5. A good way to do this is to chart your issues. An editing checklist is provided in Course Materials to make things easier.

Look at your last essay and, on the chart, check off areas where you need to improve. Then look up these areas for improvement in your textbook, using the index to identify pages to review.

Download the Editing Checklist from Course Materials. Check off the common errors you had in the essays for Unit 1 and Unit 2 and upload the Editing Checklist into the Drop Box section of the course. Indicate in the COMPLETE section that you have put your Editing Checklist into the Drop Box. You will have written two essays up to this point where you have received feedback from your facilitator.

There is an example of a scoring rubric for essays in Course Materials. Your facilitator may decide to use this rubric to provide you with feedback. In any case, it will provide you with feedback. In any case, it provides you with ideas on how your essay may be evaluated.
